Your account. An email address, or a Google account if you sign in that way. A username you choose. A profile picture if you upload one.

Your voice, during a debate only. Your microphone is recorded while a debate is running, and converted to text so it can be scored. Nothing is recorded outside a debate.

Your results. Scores, rating changes, and the debates you took part in.

The audio of a debate travels directly between you and your opponent. It does not pass through our servers. If your networks cannot connect directly, it is relayed by a third party (ExpressTurn) that passes it along without storing it.

To turn speech into text, either your browser transcribes it locally, or — on browsers that cannot — a recording is sent to Google’s Gemini API to be transcribed. The resulting transcript is sent to Gemini again to be judged.

We currently use Google’s free API tier, which means Google may use what is sent to improve their models. If that matters to you, do not say anything in a debate you would not want used that way.

Recordings: deleted within 48 hours.

Transcripts: kept 30 days, then deleted automatically. They are kept that long so scoring can be checked when someone appeals a result, and so the judging can be improved.

Results and ratings: kept while your account exists.

No other user can read your transcript. Not your opponent, not anyone browsing the site. It exists to be scored and then deleted.

One exception. If you or your opponent appeals a result or reports something, the site owner can open that debate’s transcript in order to investigate it. That is the only way an appeal can be judged on anything other than guesswork. It is not routine, it is limited to the debate in question, and transcripts are still deleted on the same 30-day schedule.

Public: your username, picture, rating, tier, record, and your debate results — the claim, who you debated, both scores, and the date.

Private: your email, your transcripts, your recordings, and the judge’s detailed reasoning. The reasoning is not visible to anyone using the site, including you.

Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (hosting), Google Gemini (transcription and judging), Google (sign-in, if you use it), ExpressTurn (audio relay), Resend and Cloudflare (email).

Account settings → Delete my account. This removes your profile, rating, history and transcripts permanently and immediately.

It also removes your side of every debate you took part in, which changes your opponents’ records. That is the honest consequence of deleting everything when the records are shared between two people.
